Kennesaw State University recently named students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Fall 2017 semester. The Kennesaw State students were honored by President Sam Olens for earning top marks.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's track and field team has placed among the top five at each of the last five NCAA Championship meets, and the team has its sights set on a sixth straight top-five finish and the program's first-ever national championship in 2018.
The 170-member band was invited to perform at halftime at Lambeau Field on Sept. 10 in front of a potential crowd of more than 80,000 people.
Genesee Community College is pleased to congratulate 3 students whose essays earned first, second and third place, respectively, in the 2017 David A. Garfinkel Essay Contest sponsored by the Historical Society of New York Courts. Danielle Kinney, Anna Lewis and Shannon Dent were recognized at an awards ceremony in the New York Court of Appeals Courtroom on Law Day, May 1, 2017. The Garfinkel Essay contest invites community college students from around the state to submit essays on topics of legal relevance. This year they were charged with addressing the question: "YOU, the Voter: How far have we come? Is the journey over?" Genesee Community College took top billing at the 50th Annual Conference of the New York State Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges (NYSMATYC) in Syracuse, NY on April 7-9, 2017 with four GCC students taking honors and collectively earning $2,750 in scholarship awards-a GCC record for this particular conference. Seven members of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team were selected to the 2014 D3football.com All-America Teams, the Web site announced in late December prior to the start of the NCAA Division III national championship game.
The No. 1 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team defeated third-ranked Mount Union (Ohio) on Dec. 19 by a score of 43-34 to win Stagg Bowl XLII, the 2014 NCAA Division III national championship game, at Salem Stadium.
